Directions 6 steps | 30 Minutes

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Measure and prep all ingredients. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.

Make the honey glaze. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

Add the honey, soy sauce and rice vinegar to the pan. Stir until the honey is dissolved. (See notes 2.)

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the pan and stir until the glaze thickens, about 1-2 minutes.

Brush the salmon fillets with the honey glaze. Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through. (See notes 3-4.)

Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top of the salmon fillets before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

  1. If you don't have rice vinegar, you can use apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar instead.
  2. You can also add some red pepper flakes to the glaze if you want a bit of spice. 
  3. Make sure to not overcook the salmon, as it can become dry and tough. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F. 
  4. You can also grill the salmon on a barbecue instead of baking it in the oven. Just be sure to oil the grill grates well so that the salmon doesn't stick.
