Step 1

Measure and prep all ingredients. Rinse the shrimp and pat it dry.

Prepare the seasoning mixture. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, black garlic powder, cayenne pepper powder, paprika, cumin, onion powder, light brown sugar, sea salt and ground black pepper.

Using gloved hands, toss the shrimp with the seasoning mixture to completely coat the shrimp. If you don’t have gloves, pour the shrimp and seasoning into a gallon sized plastic bag to rub the seasoning onto the shrimp.

Step 4

Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add enough shrimp to create one layer on the skillet. Do not layer. Cook the shrimp, tossing as needed, until it turns pink. Do not overcook. Remove the shrimp from the pan and cook additional layers of shrimp as needed, depending on the size of the pan.
