What You’ll Do

Try enlightened versions of hearty dishes popular in Northern Italy.

Chef Charles has prepared a hearty and delicious menu of Northern Italian fare for you to enjoy during this personal private chef experience. To begin, you'll have a radicchio and shaved fennel salad with a supremed citrus medley, roasted hazelnuts and goat cheese. For the main course, Chef Charles will serve an elevated version chicken Marengo prepared with tomato concasse, Kalamata and Picholine olives, Baby Bella mushrooms in Pino Grigio reduction sauce. On the side, you'll have green beans sautéed in butter with shallots. Roasted garlic and parmesan Potato Duchess. For your dessert is a stunning seasonal fruit roasted almond studded galette with a quenelle of mint infused crème fraîche.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to accompany the menu, and may request pairing recommendations from the chef upon booking.

We had a great time and can’t wait to book with Chef Charles again. Charles’s approach was very informative. We learned a lot about how to sear meat and cook on high heat; for example holding the pan at an angle away from you as you place the meat. Chef Charles made everything so easy and the food was the best. He is also a very interesting person and loved his stories as a chef. Can’t wait to work together again!

I hired Charles last minute for an at-home birthday dinner for my husband. We were so pleased with the experience! The food was fantastic and he took the time to teach us a thing or two and to share his favorite Bay Area restaurants. We’d love to see him again, perhaps for a class with friends.

Food was a 10/10, great taste! Chef Charles was friendly and arrived on time. However, he did appear a bit sloppy. Wearing flip flops, a tee shirt, and a zip up hoodie, I was a bit nervous if we had the right person coming to cook us dinner. Overall, we liked the food, just a lack of professionalism.

Chef Charles was superb. He was incredibly flexible, tailored the evening to what our party wanted, taught superb cooking technicals, was accommodating to our requests and situation and was a lovely person to speak with. Highly, highly recommend. A true profesional.

The whole evening with Chef Charles was lots of fun. Even though we are all experienced and adventurous home cooks we learned some great techniques and had a great time chatting and cooking with Charles. Oh, and the food was good too!

Chef Charles was a wonderful host! He started with an insightful explanation for the meal's theme and the cultural nuances of Southern Italy. He was very accommodating in answering all our questions about the meal and cooking techniques that he used. It was a very immersive learning experience. Most of all, the food was amazing! It was a wonderful pairing of flavors and restaurant-quality meal from the comfort of our home. Highly recommend Chef Charles.
