Private Chef - Authentic Indian Flavors - Baltimore

I've taken enough classes with Chef Ravi that I'm not sure exactly how many that it's been, but I think it's somewhere around 8. Before meeting Ravi I'd been a lifelong fan of Indian cuisine but every attempt to cook it at home had ended up in disappointment. The classes have done wonders to demystify the process and allow me to start producing dishes in the kitchen that I'm really proud of. The Chef does a great job of breaking down the ingredients needed and presenting the steps to the recipes in an approachable way. Rich flavor comes with a with a rich list of ingredients so these aren't set and forget recipes, but if you're ready to dig in and learn something new you'll walk away with some culinary skills that you can use for the rest of your life. I never used to use whole spices before taking these classes, but now I swear by them, and I have twice the amount of available spices in my rack than I used to. Chef Ravi also does a great job of teaching the philosophy of cooking as well as the process of making the dishes (the recipe is a guideline). Be ready to take notes and you'll be able to soak up a lot of extra culinary wisdom. My final tip is don't eat before the class so you'll be prepared to take generous helpings of what was made!
