14 Best Toaster Strudel Flavors Ranked in 2025
You may be a Toaster Strudels aficionado, perfectly content with any Toaster Strudel flavor, never seeing a reason to pit them against each other. And that’s pretty noble, we’ll admit. It’s good to be able to enjoy a wide range of treats.
But we’re not that altruistic around here. Oh, no: we see a lineup of something like Toaster Strudel flavors, something that’s bound to have a range of tastes and to vary a lot in quality control, and we start itching to rank it. So that’s what we’re here to do today: rank every existing Toaster Strudel flavor from least-impressive to tastiest.
However, we can’t just stop there. While you’ll currently only find nine flavors on store shelves (and two of those are just existing flavors with extra icing), there are plenty of past flavors we thought deserved to be invited to the party. Whether they were seasonal favorites bound to be back next year or just discontinued flavors that may make a comeback, we want you to be prepared.
So this ranking of all the Toaster Strudel flavors isn’t only going to look at those you can buy right now. It’s a celebration of the venerable breakfast pastry and all the Toaster Strudel flavors the fine folks of Pillsbury have given us to enjoy.
So let’s get into it: which best Toaster Strudel flavors come out on top?

The 14 Best Toaster Strudel Flavors Ranked
14. Chocolate
It is not a Toaster Strudel flavor you’ll be able to buy anymore, and that’s most likely because it wasn’t always a fan favorite. Why, you might think? Surely, chocolate is one of the most universally liked flavors there is.
And that’s true. But even so, it can get overwhelmingly sweet if you aren’t careful, and that’s exactly the trap this Toaster Strudel flavor fell into.
Chocolate pastry, chocolate filling and chocolate ganache; it's a lot of chocolate. Probably too much, if you ask most. So while there were definitely fans out there who loved this discontinued Toaster Strudel flavor, most found it chocolate-heavy and entirely too sweet.
13. Wildberry
There are lots of fruity Toaster Strudel flavors that work: strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, all the classics. But this one falls a bit short of the lofty standard set by its fruity peers. Why? Because “Wildberry” isn’t a real fruit, and you can tell the second you bite into this Toaster Strudel flavor.
Sure, it’s tasty enough. It probably won’t make your teeth hurt like a Chocolate Toaster Strudel, and it’s not going to be the worst thing you eat all day. But the attempt to create a hybrid berry flavor really just results in an indistinct mash-up of fruit flavors that doesn’t quite taste like any one thing.
Pleasant, but a bit too generic to earn a higher ranking on a Toaster Strudel flavors list.
12. Frosted Toaster Donut
Frosted Toaster Donut comes from a line of Toaster Strudels that promised a fluffier, donut-like texture. With a distinctly new pastry recipe and the usual vanilla icing, this Toaster Strudel flavor is actually a pretty good approximation of a donut, but with no filling.
That might be normal in a traditional yeast donut, but it’s not what you’re looking for when you bite into a Toaster Strudel. Which is a shame — this Toaster Strudel flavor is actually delicious, and it had a lot of potential. It just has to give the nod to other, filled flavors from the Toaster Donut line.
While possibly discontinued, some grocery stores still have the line in stock. So take a look around your local stores if you want to try it to rank this Toaster Strudel flavor for yourself.
11. Rainbow Sprinkle Toaster Donut
This is pretty much the same flavor as Frosted Toaster Donut, with one crucial addition: sprinkles. Something about pink frosting and a dusting of rainbow sprinkles just makes it feel more like a real donut, which is always a plus.
However, since this Toaster Strudel still doesn’t have a filling, it would be hard for it to rise in the rankings. Is the Rainbow Sprinkle Toaster Donut still probably an enjoyable breakfast experience? Yes, if you don’t mind the sugar rush of your life (a given with the entire Toaster Donuts line, if we’re being honest).
But it could be better, and that keeps it from a better ranking. It gets the nod over Frosted Donut only because it pulls off the lack of a filling just a little bit better.
10. Golden Grahams
Many discontinued Toaster Strudel flavors are hybrids like this one, which was meant to taste like s’mores you might make with Golden Grahams crackers. It’s a great concept: marshmallow and chocolate are excellent partners in almost every format. But in this instance, it might have been taken just a bit too far.
Let’s start with what’s good about this Toaster Strudel flavor. The texture is great. Marshmallow with chocolate is a hard combination to mess up. And it makes a pretty decent dessert.
But it’s so overwhelmingly sweet that it’s hard to imagine eating this for breakfast. It’s not bad, if you’ve got a sweet tooth — but it’s also not something you’d likely want to feed your kids before school, either.
9. Cherry
You have to be careful with cherry-flavored sweets: one wrong move and it starts tasting like medicine, the syrup in a jar of maraschino cherries or some unholy hybrid of both.
And this Toaster Strudel flavor doesn’t exactly flop. It doesn’t cross that line entirely. But it’s a little too close for a higher rating.
Toaster Strudel flavors tend to be incredibly sweet, so it’s not surprising that this flavor gets close to being way too much. Maybe you’ll enjoy this if cherry is already your go-to fruit. But if you’re already a cherry skeptic, this is not going to be your favorite flavor.
8. Blueberry
Blueberry has a lot going for it as a Toaster Strudel flavor. It isn’t as overwhelmingly sweet as some of its peers, and it might taste ever so slightly less artificial. That said, of all the Toaster Strudel flavors, it’s unlikely to be the best-loved.
As we’re about to see, many of Pillsbury’s fruit flavors suffer from that slight “good, but just a little too basic” blandness. Blueberry, while definitely tasty enough to merit buying a box, is no exception.
7. Raspberry
Raspberry is often seen as strawberry’s poor relation, a likeable fruit that doesn’t really stand out. And feelings are pretty mixed on whether this Toaster Strudel flavor overcomes that reputation.
Fans say that its tartness gives it layers that most Toaster Strudel flavors don’t have. Naysayers say that it’s tasty but not very interesting, lacking the punch of a flavor like Strawberry. Nevertheless, nobody really dislikes this flavor, so go ahead and judge for yourself.
6. Apple
Apple pastries are nothing new: you’ve no doubt had an apple strudel, apple turnover or maybe even leftover apple pie for breakfast before. So, apple was a natural choice for Pillsbury to adapt into a Toaster Strudel flavor.
It works pretty well, all told: mild but pleasant, very few people will actively dislike this flavor. Die-hard apple pie fans will be satisfied with this Toaster Strudel flavor, but so will ordinary snackers. It’s not quite enough to break into the top five, but it’s a solid Toaster Strudel choice all the same.
5. Strawberry
This is probably the Toaster Strudel flavor you tried first, and for good reason. The filling is sweet and tangy and exactly what you want in a Toaster Strudel.
It’s not sour, but it has enough tartness to offset the often overwhelming sweetness of the pastry and icing (which, let’s be honest with ourselves, is edible glue made of sugar). There may be a handful of other flavors that stand out more, but Strawberry will always be the most reliable Toaster Strudel flavor, and that’s not a bad thing to be.
4. Sausage Toaster Scrambles
Pillsbury doesn’t only make sweet Toaster Strudels. While they technically belong to a separate Toaster Scrambles line, these savory breakfast pastries still fall under the Toaster Strudel flavor umbrella, so we thought they merited inclusion on a list of the flavors ranked.
And they’re actually one of the best things Pillsbury has put out in a long time.
It should be impossible to pull off all of the textures that make this flavor so good in a mass-produced toaster pastry. But somehow, the pastry is deliciously flaky, the eggs taste freshly scrambled and the cheese and sausage taste real.
Unbelievably, one of the best Toaster Strudel flavors isn’t even sweet! Plus, it’s a decently good high-protein snack if you need a quick pick-me-up.
3. Bacon Toaster Scrambles
Basically everything we said about the Sausage Toaster Scrambles flavor applies here, too. The pastry, cheese and eggs all taste exactly like you’d hope, and this time, the meat has a more prominent flavor.
Bacon has a bit more punch than sausage, and this Toaster Strudel flavor benefits from it. Plus, with the Toaster Scrambles line, you totally avoid the crazy sugar rush that you risk every time you pick up one of the sweet flavors.
While it would feel wrong to place a bacon-and-egg flavor first above the more traditional Toaster Strudel flavors, we couldn’t possibly rank these any lower. It turns out that Toaster Strudels can do savory as well as they can do sweet.
2. Cinnamon Roll
Cinnamon rolls are a top pick when looking for sweet breakfast food ideas. And, if you think about it, a Toaster Strudel was kind of the perfect format for a cinnamon roll-flavored breakfast treat.
It’s already got the flaky pastry and frosting down, so all Pillsbury needed to do was add a gooey cinnamon filling. Put it all together and you have one of the best Toaster Strudel flavors.
But it’s not just a flat, portable cinnamon roll. The unique texture of the Toaster Strudel pastry and the ratio of crust to filling (much higher than in a real cinnamon roll) keep the Cinnamon Roll Toaster Strudel novel and fresh, not only a substitute for the real thing but a worthy choice in its own right.
1. Cream Cheese and Strawberry
There aren’t many flavors that pair as well as strawberry and cream cheese. Sure, you could pick any fruit and it would probably work, but something about the brightness of strawberry flavor is the perfect complement to a heavier, more muted cream cheese frosting. So it goes without saying that this Toaster Strudel flavor was going to work beautifully.
We all love a strawberry-flavored Toaster Strudel, sure. It’s the classic flavor, and everyone loves it for a reason. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved, and this indulgent alternative proves that. Everything really is better with cheese.
How Many Flavors of Toaster Strudel Are There?
If you look at Pillsbury’s Toaster Strudel webpage, you’ll find that there aren’t 14 flavors available — at least not unique ones. You’ll see different quantities for sale, or existing flavors with extra frosting, but we didn’t count those. In total, there are around nine sweet Toaster Strudel varieties listed, plus the Toaster Scrambles.
So why did we include more options on our Toaster Strudel flavors list than are possible to buy right now? Firstly, to give you an idea of the kinds of Toaster Strudel flavors Pillsbury offers. Seasonal flavors are common, and always keep in mind that a discontinued flavor might be brought back.
And secondly, we wanted to give you a better idea of the range of Toaster Strudel flavors that have been sold in the past because it’s sometimes still possible to get your hands on a discontinued flavor through a specialty vendor.
No guarantees, of course — discontinued flavors aren’t being manufactured anymore, so the supply is finite — but if some smart seller bought up a whole stock while a flavor was still for sale, somebody may still have some available.
So if a flavor that sounded amazing to you isn’t on Pillsbury’s website, it’s worth trying to find out if you can buy a box online. You’d be surprised what’s still available!
The toaster pastry market is a competitive one, and to stay afloat, Pillsbury can only sell top-of-the-line Toaster Strudel flavors. But that doesn’t mean that every shopper will enjoy those flavors equally. That’s what makes rankings, like this list of all the Toaster Strudel flavors ranked, super fun!
Did we inspire you to go scour online vendors for a discontinued flavor? Awesome. Did we rank your favorite appallingly low? Go ahead and enjoy a pastry or two out of spite.
There will never be a single best Toaster Strudel flavor and that’s the beauty of trying to declare a winner. There will always be new toaster pastries to try, and one of them will be your next favorite. Go forth and find it.
