25 Best Sweet Starbucks Drinks To Try in 2025

Last Updated on April 4, 2025 | 0 Comments
Sweet Starbucks drinks are extremely tasty

A sweet Starbucks drink is sometimes just what you need when the craving for a sugary treat hits. Think about the end of a long day at work or the cool-down after a challenging workout. Or maybe you just finished an exam you’ve been buckling down for. What could be the ultimate reward in such times? For many, a sweet treat tops the list, and Starbucks has no shortage of those.

There’s truly no niche that sweet Starbucks drinks don’t occupy — you’ll find them in hot, cold, sugary and slightly spicy variations. Your biggest struggle might be choosing just one, which could then beg the question, how much sugar is too much? However, to help you narrow things down and find a favorite, we’ve explored 25 of the best sweet Starbucks drinks.

Sweet Hot Coffee Drinks at Starbucks Worth Trying

1. White Chocolate Mocha

Espresso, milk and white chocolate syrup, resulting in an astronomical 46 grams of sugar in a Grande size: this sweet Starbucks drink is about as sweet as it gets. What’s more, it’s topped with chocolate curls and whipped cream!

For the sake of your health, we can’t exactly encourage making a White Chocolate Mocha a regular indulgence, but spoil yourself with one every so often (and maybe in a smaller size). Fans love its warm and mild flavor, and there are few sweet Starbucks drinks as perfect for a winter day.

2. Blonde Vanilla Latte

This simple hot coffee drink is a great way to kick off our list because it’s got something for everyone. Made with blonde-roast espresso, milk of your choice and vanilla syrup, it definitely has a strong coffee taste, but it’s still one of the milder Starbucks drinks with the most sugar.

A Grande (16 ounces) has 35 grams of sugar, 37 grams of carbs and 250 calories, though you can easily bring that number down by substituting almond milk for whole milk. While lower in sugar than many other sweet Starbucks drinks, that’s still an entire day’s worth in one serving.

3. Peppermint Mocha

Starbucks’ seasonal menus are the stuff of legend, so we couldn’t fail to include a few favorites from the autumn and winter drink menus. The Peppermint Mocha, made with mocha sauce, peppermint syrup, milk and espresso, is a winter holiday drink that usually debuts in November or December.

As it’s come back every holiday season for several years now, we’re pretty confident you’ll be able to enjoy it again this year. And it’ll definitely give you the holiday sugar rush you’re looking for, with 66 grams of sugar, 68 grams of carbohydrates and 480 calories in a Grande. But the holidays are for treating yourself, aren’t they?

4. Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado

Let’s be honest: You’re not going to find any of the healthiest Starbucks drinks on this list. But if you’re trying to lighten up your sweet Starbucks drink order, this is a good choice.

The Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado is made with oat milk, light roast espresso, brown sugar syrup and cinnamon. And thanks to the use of the non-dairy milk variant, it’s only 130 calories. With 24 grams of carbohydrates and 14 grams of sugar, this is one of the least-sugary sweet Starbucks drinks. Next to the PSL, this sweet Starbucks drink looks positively health-conscious!

5. Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ah, the "PSL," as it's sometimes called. As the undisputed star of the Starbucks Fall drink menu, many fans eagerly await its return every autumn. You can also order it iced, but are you really going to want to order a cold drink in the autumn?

This beloved sweet Starbucks drink is made with espresso, steamed milk, pumpkin sauce and sometimes vanilla syrup, then topped off — of course — with some whipped cream. Of course, all of that results in some seriously eye-popping sugar content, with a 390-calorie Grande packing in 52 grams of carbs and 50 grams of sugar. But PSL season only comes once a year, right?

6. Smoked Butterscotch Latte

This is a relatively simple sweet Starbucks drink: it’s made with only espresso, steamed milk and butterscotch sauce. It’s got a lovely warming flavor that’s perfect on a cold morning, and it won’t overload you with the whipped cream, toppings and extra pumps of syrup that make many sweet Starbucks drinks so sugary; that’s not to say this is a low-sugar option, though: a Grande still contains 47 grams of sugar.

7. Starbucks Reserve Dark Chocolate Mocha

Many sweet Starbucks drinks use uber-sweet syrups to flavor the coffee and milk, but this unique variation goes in a different direction. Instead of chocolate syrup, the Starbucks Reserve Dark Chocolate Mocha is made with shaved dark chocolate and cocoa powder.

This gives the drink a much richer and more complex flavor, and also cuts back significantly on the sugar content. With 33 grams of sugar, this sweet Starbucks drink is a healthier option than the mid-50s numbers we’ve seen for the syrup-based picks.

8. Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte

With the three-way hit of sugar (from the caramel syrup), caffeine (from the coffee) and spice (from the cinnamon), this sweet Starbucks drink will definitely wake you up. And though you can also get it hot, the refreshing bite of the iced version might be just what you need on a warm summer's day. A Grande contains 300 calories and 35 grams of sugar.

9. Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

This drink is very similar to the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado, so you likely already know what to expect regarding ingredients. If you're trading in your warm order for a sweet Starbucks drink that will cool you down, this is also one of the lighter iced options, with 150 calories and 15 grams of sugar in a Grande.

10. Iced Caramel Macchiato

This is another sweet Starbucks drink that’s very popular as a hot beverage, but again, give the iced version a shot and you won't regret it. An Iced Caramel Macchiato is made of milk, espresso, vanilla syrup and caramel — simple but incredibly sweet. In a Grande size, this sweet Starbucks drink will net you 250 calories, 37 grams of carbohydrates and 34 grams of sugar.

11. Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino

This sweet Starbucks drink gets it all in there: mocha syrup, chocolate chips and cookie crumble, together with chocolate syrup and whipped cream (with more chocolate syrup to garnish) — it’s no surprise this one packs 55 grams of added sugars. Whether you’re a chocolate lover or in the mood for something almost unbelievably sweet, the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappucino is a sweet Starbucks drink par excellence.

12. Iced Hazelnut Bianco Latte

Hazelnuts might remind you of Nutella, but in this sweet Starbucks drink, they’re used to give an earthy flavor to the tired coffee-milk blend. It’s a much less overpowering kind of sweetness than you might find in some other Starbucks drinks. A Grande contains 280 calories and 26 grams of sugar.

13. Iced Ube Coconut Latte

One of Starbucks’ new trends is cold foam, a topping made out of aerated milk that’s sort of like the cold version of steamed milk. It’s a feature of many seasonal sweet Starbucks drinks during spring.

The Iced Ube Coconut Latte features cold foam flavored with ube, a Filipino root vegetable that’s also been trending recently. That eye-catching purple addition tops off a blend of espresso and coconut milk. You can expect around 250 calories and 15 grams of sugar in a Grande order of this unique drink.

14. Iced Black Tea Lemonade

When you’re looking for a sweet Starbucks drink that’s lighter in calories, coffee isn’t always the way to go. Without milk and whipped cream, you cut down on a significant amount of calories, as is the case in this simple but refreshing summer beverage. Order this sweet Starbucks drink to the tune of 50 calories and 11 grams of sugar in a Grande — not bad at all.

15. Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew

Balancing the bold and earthy flavors of brewed coffee with the syrupy deliciousness of cream and syrup, the Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew will tempt you to finish it in one go. Like other sweet Starbucks drinks, though, it's better to savor them patiently as you may be tempted to get another if finishing them too quickly.

We do, however, understand that the milky goodness from just one sip of this refreshing beverage may have you looking ahead to a second order. If so, this sweet Starbucks drink is one of the safer options to indulge in two servings, with 70 calories and just 4 grams of sugar in a Grande.

16. Strawberry Acaí Refresher

Starbucks Refreshers drinks — fruit-flavored caffeinated libations that are neither tea nor lemonade — are also great low-calorie options. This line of sweet Starbucks drinks has a variety of flavors to choose from, but this appealing pink option is a fan favorite. It’s bright, fruity, tart and sweet, and it won’t break the caloric bank, either — a Grande Strawberry Acaí Refresher contains 100 calories and 21 grams of sugar.

17. Iced Passion Tango Tea Lemonade

The concept of this sweet Starbucks drink isn’t immensely different than the Iced Black Tea Lemonade we looked at a little earlier. Both drinks are basically just iced tea with lemonade. But the tart, fruity flavor of Passion Tango Tea gives this sweet Starbucks drink a very different feel.

It’s tropical and refreshing — and contains only 50 calories in a Grande. Tea might not give you the caffeine hit you’re looking for (depending on the flavor), but it’s a refreshing way to enjoy a sweet Starbucks drink with fewer calories than most.

18. Iced Shaken Espresso

It’s hard to find a sweet Starbucks coffee drink less caloric than this one, at only 100 calories (and an impressively low 14 grams of sugar in a Grande). It contains only espresso, milk and classic syrup, a combination that’s as delicious as it is low in calories. If you’re craving a Frappuccino but don’t want to down 400-plus calories through a straw, this is probably the best substitute you’ll find.

19. Strawberry Crème Frappuccino

Coffee’s great and all, but sometimes you just want a milkshake. And no, this sweet Starbucks drink doesn’t include any ice cream. But all you really need to set the mood is ice, milk and sweetener, and the Strawberry Crème Frappuccino delivers.

You’ll find no coffee in this one — just pure strawberry sweetness. Pro tip: stir the whipped cream top into your drink — after the obligatory photo, of course — to make it a little creamier. A Grande Strawberry Crème Frappuccino contains 370 calories and 51 grams of sugar.

20. Lavender Matcha Malt

This Spring 2025 seasonal flavor is like no sweet Starbucks drink before it. It’s essentially a matcha milkshake, blending matcha and lavender with vanilla gelato — a first for a brand that has many milkshake stand-ins but none that actually use ice cream. It’s decadent, incredibly sweet and a little earthy, thanks to the matcha and lavender flavors.

While Starbucks has yet to publicize the nutrition facts for this very new drink, that’s probably for the best — the sugar content might just give you a bit of a fright. But thanks to the ice cream, we would guess this would rank among the Starbucks drinks with the most sugar if we had that data.

21. Sakura Float

Many of the sweet Starbucks drinks on the new Spring 2025 seasonal menu celebrate Japanese flavors, from matcha to this cherry blossom-inspired tea beverage.

Spring is cherry blossom season in Japan, and this refreshing beverage uses a sakura tea flavor that’s popular at Japanese Starbucks locations to make a float with vanilla gelato and sakura cold foam. If you’re like most American Starbucks-goers, this flavor might be new to you, so check out this coffee-free treat while it’s still available.

22. Vanilla Steamer

This lesser-known sweet Starbucks drink is incredibly straightforward, consisting of nothing more than milk and vanilla syrup (and whipped cream, if that’s not sweet enough for you). While it’s not nearly as well known or popular as its more famous chocolate cousin, a Vanilla Steamer deserves credit for what it is: a warming, mild-flavored drink that won’t bombard you with sugary sweetness first thing in the morning.

Sure, its 37 grams of sugar doesn’t exactly make it a low-sugar option, but in terms of flavor, it’s not full of syrups and add-ons that make some sweet Starbucks drinks taste a little overpowering. That makes a Vanilla Steamer a solid choice if you’re in the market for a creamy hot drink that’s not a latte.

23. Pink Drink

You’ve seen it on everybody’s Instagram — now try it for yourself. The Pink Drink is an iconic sweet Starbucks drink for a summer day or any time you need a pick-me-up.

It’s a Strawberry Acaí Refresher with coconut milk and dried strawberries, which creates that cloudy pink color that photographs so well. Light, fruity and refreshing, this is a sweet Starbucks drink for a moment when your goal is not instant caffeine but sheer sugar-fueled fun. One Grande order of this dazzling drink contains 140 calories and 25 grams of sugar.

24. Chai Latte

You might think of a tea latte as a watery, weak-flavored affair, but that couldn’t be further from the truth with this sweet Starbucks drink. A Chai Latte from Starbucks features black tea, plenty of spice and warm milk, making it a perfect choice for a cold day if neither tea nor coffee sounds quite right.

While it’s still packed with sugar, this sweet Starbucks drink is slightly lower in calories: a Grande Chai Latte will set you back 240 calories and 42 grams of sugar.

25. Hot Chocolate

It may seem basic, and it’s definitely not the first thought that comes to mind when you think about sweet Starbucks drinks. However, Starbucks really does make a mean hot chocolate. It’s a drink that's difficult to mess up, granted, but this version is creamy, sweet and perfectly smooth — and you may be able to find flavor variants like peppermint around the winter holidays.

If you opt for the original version of this sweet Starbucks drink, you can expect 370 calories and 37 grams of sugar in a Grande order. Hot chocolate is also a nostalgic choice, reminiscent of childhood snow days in a way that coffee could never be, and sometimes that’s exactly the vibe you’re going for.

What Is the Best Sweet Drink at Starbucks?

While that will always depend on your taste, there are a few sweet Starbucks drinks that have earned a cult following. The Caramel Macchiato (hot or iced) is one of the store’s most beloved coffee drinks, and recently, the Pink Drink has been hugely popular — in no small part because it looks great in photos on social media.

And, of course, seasonal sweet Starbucks drinks are some of the most iconic: the annual return of the PSL has grown into a much-anticipated social event. So while we can’t tell you which sweet Starbucks drink is best, those are a few of the best-loved; we'll leave the judgment up to you.

A sweet Starbucks drink can look any way you want it to. It can be a cool, refreshing break on a hot afternoon, a morning pick-me-up, a spontaneous indulgence on a chilly weekend or a treat after finishing your holiday shopping. And sure, that usually comes with a hefty nutritional price tag that you won’t want to be cashing out too often, but sometimes we all need a little sweet Starbucks drink, and that’s the brand's forte.
