If you are intrigued by the exotic flavors, health benefits, and known healing properties of Indian cuisine, this is the class for you. In this hands-on class, Chef Mukti ditches the cream and heavy oils used by many Indian restaurants and teaches you how to cook healthier and lighter with better, bolder flavors.
Chef Mukti will begin by giving you descriptions of the spices and secrets to knowing how each spice will transform each dish. You will then dive into preparing the authentic, vibrant dishes of this fascinating cuisine.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Meet your chef
Chef Mukti grew up in India, learning the art of cooking from her mother, aunts, and grandmothers. Chef Mukti moved to the U.S. in 1986 to work as a biologist and retired in 2006 to pursue her dream to bring the flavors and benefits of Indian cooking to all New Yorkers. Chef Mukti’s impressive Indian cooking classes focus on healthy eating and authentic and modern Indian techniques with adjustments for American kitchens.
