Chef Mukti grew up in India, learning the art of cooking from her mother, aunts, and grandmothers. Chef Mukti moved to the U.S. in 1986 to work as a biologist and retired in 2006 to pursue her dream to bring the flavors and benefits of Indian cooking to all New Yorkers. I attended Chef Mukti's class with my partner, Andrew, and cooking with her was an incredible experience! It was our first cooking class ever, and Mukti taught us how to make *five* amazing vegan Indian dishes from scratch. Mukti not only walked us through each cooking step, but she also taught us some really helpful tips and tricks about cooking in general, including how to handle cookware properly and how to incorporate different kinds of spices — and the benefits of them as well. To top it all off, the food itself is to-die-for. Mukti's cooking class is definitely worth it and we both highly recommend it to anyone.

I have attended a few cooking classes and I must say the this is the best culinary experience thus far; Mukti not only teaches you how to cook Indian foods, but also teaches you what and how to use the tools of the kitchen; she explains the proper cooking tools and methods to use in order to obtain the desired results. Her method of instructing is one where you are made to feel relax and comfortable. I will return to take another class from Mukti. Thank you, Muki!

Absolutely a great and wonderful experience! We did the vegan Indian cooking class and learned so much about cooking, including the basics. The food was amazing - and we were the ones who made it! I highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn more about Indian cooking.
