Discover all there is to know about chocolate preparation with Chef Ryan!

From production to tempering, you will be learning all of the ins and outs of chocolate, from its history to its current popularity as a celebrated sweet. With over 20 years of experience as a chocolatier and owner of an establishment that specializes in all manner of chocolate delights, Chef Ryan expertly guides you through the preparation process in a welcoming and warm environment.

Your experience begins with creating melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffles, followed by divine hand-painted molded chocolates. For the grand finale, indulge in a sinful chocolate molten cake. Even after the class has concluded, you will be able to delight family and friends with your own handcrafted confections again and again.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I am a Chef, Pastry Chef, and Chocolatier with over 20 years of culinary experience working throughout the country. I also have extensive experience as a food stylist for the Food Network and an annual role as onsite Operations Manager in Culinary Development at the Super Bowl. I have cooked for President Clinton three times, and have been invited on three separate occasions to the prestigious James Beard House in New York City.

All of us greatly enjoyed our chocolate experience. We learned so much more than the class description. I wouldn’t hesitate to request Chef Ryan again and would highly recommend him to friends for a very enjoyable experience.

My girlfriend and I had an awesome time! Chef Ryan was very engaging and we learned a lot of kitchen/cooking fundamentals that we will utilize going forward. The chocolate turned out so good! Highly recommend the chocolate experience.

Chef Ryan is great & the chocolate was good. The lab could be more professional but he was very friendly and informative.

Chef Ryan has catered the past six Superbowls but his true passion is creating mouthwatering sweets. His marbled chocolates are as beautiful as they are delicious and his chocolate mousse with poached pears is rich and creamy. It was so funny to see him create sugar candy masterpieces to top off his gorgeously plated desserts.

Ryan was great! My wife and son's girlfriend had a wonderful time and learned a lot. Total hands on and the different desserts were spectacular! Would absolutely recommend.

Chef Ryan was fantastic! His chocolate skills are unreal and he is also a wonderful teacher. He made making three different kinds of chocolate desserts both easy and fun. I would book him again in a heartbeat.

What a fun experience! I've taken a variety of cooking classes over the years, but always small group classes. It was so nice to have a private class at my home with Chef Ryan. He is not only extremely knowledgeable but also just an all-around nice guy. It was so much fun learning to make chocolates from Ryan - especially the handpainted molded chocolates. I learned so much and am inspired to make them on my own, as Chef Ryan showed how easy it can be (though of course, it would take years of practice, as well as artistic ability, to get to the level of Chef Ryan's beautiful chocolates).

Ryan was great - we booked him just a day in advance, he was engaged and friendly, my 12 year old and I enjoyed the Chocolate Experience and Ryan was a knowledgable teacher. Would definitely schedule a class with him again!

We had a great time with Chef Ryan. We chose to cook out of his Chocolate Lab in Manhattan Beach and spent the evening making some awesome truffles and molten cakes. Ryan has some incredible knowledge that he was willing to share with us and we left learning something new about something we love so much: chocolate. Thanks again Ryan!

Chef Ryan coordinated a wonderful Valentine's chocolate making experience! He was flexible with the booking time, and arrived at my place with everything that was needed for delicious truffles, hand-painted chocolates, and molten chocolate cake. Ryan was friendly and helpful throughout -- he has many years of expertise from running his own chocolate company. I would highly recommend this class as it is something that you won't regret.

Most delightful experience, with a Chef who's so down to earth, and knows his Chocolate !! Surprised my girlfriend with a private chef for two, to learn how to make chocolate desserts. It was so much fun !! Not pretentious, super friendly and fun, and we learned to make the most delicious truffles, painted molded chocolate, and an amazing molten chocolate cake! And of course we got to take all of the yummies home afterwards! Thanks so much for a memorable experience Chef Ryan!
