In this cooking class, Chef Dean will guide you through the flavors of Japan's vibrant street food scene. Drawing on his expertise in authentic Japanese cuisine, he’ll share the essential techniques and tips you need to elevate your cooking skills.
Start with a Tokyo sampler, featuring bites like ginger pork gyoza, chicken yakitori and vegetable yakisoba. Then, move on to the main event: a mouthwatering gyudon bowl, loaded with marinated beef, sweet onions and a drizzle of wasabi aioli. You'll then learn how to assemble a fresh sushi roll and finish your meal with a green tea cupcake with matcha buttercream frosting.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

The experience was absolutely wonderful. Chef Dean was welcoming, helpful and so friendly. It was almost surreal to have a private experience with such a revered local chef (he has framed newspaper and magazine clippings from his restaurant days on his walls). Our experience was hands-on, with Chef Dean guiding us through dumpling folds and pan flips. He was patient and helpful as we learned many new skills. The little touches (custom printed menus, modifications for my allergy, beautiful table arrangements) instantly elevated the evening. For a first Cozymeal experience, Chef Dean set the bar very high. We have already started to browse more classes that he and other local chefs offer.

5 stars! What a fun evening! We learned so much from Chef Dean. Everything was perfectly organized and ready for us to jump right in and get hands on and learn so many tips and tricks on numerous dishes on his Asian Food Spectacle menu. Plus, the meal was so delicious and we took home tons of leftovers. We recommend this to anyone for a fun date night. We definitely feel like we now know how to prepare these delicious dishes at home. Thanks, Chef Dean!

What a fun and unique experience!! Highly recommend this for a date night! Chef Dean was so prepared and organized which made the class flow so smoothly. He is truly an expert in his craft and I left the class feeling like I had learned a lot of valuable information! He really went above and beyond adding a couple extra dishes, a nice table setting with personalized menus and enough leftovers for lunch the next day! I would love to take another class with him!

We had the most amazing experience with Chef Dean. I have an adult son with Down’s Syndrome, who loves to cook but needs guidance. For his birthday, I reached out to Chef Dean to inquire if he would be willing to do a private cooking lesson for my son, husband and myself. I explained the situation and Chef Dean quickly responded that he would love doing the session. Chef Dean had everything prepared and was so organized. We all had a recipes. Chef Dean helped my son one-on-one. My son was overjoyed about the experience, as was my husband and myself. The food was incredible and we even got to take over leftovers home. Chef Dean is so experienced, professional and a lot of fun! We are definitely meeting up with Chef Dean again for another lesson.

10/10!!! Chef Dean is such incredible teacher, he explains things so well and shares his knowledge in all aspects. My husband and I look forward to booking more experiences in the future. Such a fun and unique date night that we highly recommend for couples, family and friends.
He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and the food was amazing (plenty of leftovers too that he packed for us). We absolutely loved the class, we will definitely be back for another one soon.

Dinner crafted by Chef Dean, was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Every bite was a journey of flavors, with two standout dishes that completely stole the show. The raspberry sauce infused with lemongrass and kefir lime leaf was a brilliant balance of sweet and tangy, elevating each bite to new heights. Equally divine was the plum sauce with a delicate blend of five spice—perfectly aromatic, it added just the right depth of flavor to complement the rest of the dish. The duck itself was seasoned to perfection and cooked to an ideal tenderness, showcasing Chef Dean’s extraordinary skill. It was a meal that left us completely in awe, and we can’t wait for our next experience under his masterful hand!

Chef Dean was amazing! He came extremely prepared and helped create an amazing night for my partner and me. He taught us how to cook a wonderful 3-course Korean dinner and gave us a great conversation about his history as a chef, his restaurant and his favourite meals. We had an amazing night and can't recommend Chef Dean enough.
We would love to have him over again to teach us more about his Loco Moco and Masubi.

Chef Dean was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was very communicative and when I asked for a customized menu he went above and beyond to make a very special and memorable meal. This was the first time I had done a private chef for a personal meal and I would absolutely consider it again in the future. Especially if Chef Dean is working it.
