What You’ll Do

Aspiring cooks recreate bakeshop favorites in this immersive five day series

This hands-on cooking series builds confidence and encourages creativity in the kitchen as young chefs ages 7-11 explore the world of baking. Guided by a chef instructor, students tackle sweet and savory bakeshop classics as they learn basic techniques along with food preparation methods and kitchen safety best practices. Each day of summer cooking classes highlights different methods from preparing dough to twisting pretzels. On the last day of the series, the aspiring bakers will take on a fun recipe challenge to test their new skills.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

Chef Bronson, a Johnson & Wales Culinary program graduate with over 15 years of industry experience, has excelled as a private events manager, catering director, food and beverage director, general manager and private chef. Inspired by his wife, a first-grade teacher and their young daughter, Chef Bronson is passionate about both culinary arts and education. With a warm, engaging approach, he aims to create memorable experiences for every guest, combining his culinary expertise with a dedication to teaching and sharing his love for food.

The class was awesome. I can't remember the name of the chef that was actually teaching the class, but I'm guessing it was the resident chef. Either way, my wife and I had a great time learning about making pasta from scratch. It was much simpler than we realized and tasted great. We ended up getting the hand crank pasta maker after the class and are super excited to make our own pasta in the future.
