What You’ll Do

5-Day Foodie Fun Kids: Global Specialties

Expand your teen chef's horizons with a cooking series custom-crafted for cooks ages 12 and older. It's a thrilling collection of five summer cooking classes focused on the incredible fare available on the international dining scene, led by an exceptional instructor with expertise to share. Students learn kitchen safety and traditional techniques while preparing amazing dishes like croque madame, chicken katsu rice and hand-cut pasta. A cooking show-style challenge awaits in their final lesson, and every student receives a printed menu of their creations and a diploma to take home.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

A move to Miami revealed new realms of flavor and led her to a second love: Teaching cooking courses. A specialty in Asian cuisine lets her put her superior knife skills to their best use. By blending food science with appreciation for global culture, Chef Dagny covers the menu from top to bottom.

Chef Dagny and her apprentice worked very well together to explain not only the ingredients but the chemistry of how they worked together and how the heat affects the outcome of the product. And they adjusted well with any kinks that may have come up. Everything was absolutely delicious and informative. Everyone loved the class and Chef's.

This was a class at in Miami. You share a table with another couple and while they do have you wash your hands, they have you combine your food with the other couple. I did not like that. You should have your own cooking station. They also had to many people in our class and we were placed on an outside table that didn't have enough ingredients. It was also very fast paced, and the teachers seemed annoyed when some of the people needed more time or assistance.
