Cooking Class - 4-Day Foodie Fun Kids: Bakery Fun

What You’ll Do

Four days of bakery basics, including core kitchen skills and safety essentials.

The doors to the home bakery are open in this delectable 4-day cooking series, a set of summer cooking classes introducing young chefs to the world of baking! With these four eye-opening courses, children ages 7 to 11 will receive hands-on instruction from an exceptional chef, sharing best practices and kitchen safety lessons. Participants will perfect their kneading skills, create batters, flip their own crepes and even explore the art of cake decorating. When finished, students receive a printed menu of their dishes and a certificate of graduation!

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

Chef Dagny and her apprentice worked very well together to explain not only the ingredients but the chemistry of how they worked together and how the heat affects the outcome of the product. And they adjusted well with any kinks that may have come up. Everything was absolutely delicious and informative. Everyone loved the class and Chef's.

This was a class at in Miami. You share a table with another couple and while they do have you wash your hands, they have you combine your food with the other couple. I did not like that. You should have your own cooking station. They also had to many people in our class and we were placed on an outside table that didn't have enough ingredients. It was also very fast paced, and the teachers seemed annoyed when some of the people needed more time or assistance.
