What You’ll Do

Prepare a four-course Italian meal full of fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors.

Join Chef Jalen in this hands-on cooking class as he teaches you how to make a simple, yet delicious menu of Italian dishes. As you cook this four-course meal, Chef Jalen will also provide professional tips for plating presentation, seasoning and more!

Begin class by preparing a fresh Caesar salad and crispy fried eggplant as your starters. For the main dish, make authentic al dente pasta and pair it with hearty ricotta-stuffed meatballs. For dessert, whip up mouthwatering Italian donuts using a surprisingly easy-to-make dough, creamy non-dairy ice cream and a rich chocolate drizzle.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Jalen’s culinary career has taken him from being line cook, sous chef or kitchen manager at various restaurants to a lead position at a highly regarded Chinese bistro. He’s also a culinary entrepreneur, running a private chef and catering company. Chef Jalen’s experience working on the East Coast eventually led him to Charlotte, where he now happily shares his passion for international cuisine with students and aspiring chefs of all skill levels.

Great food. Loved Jalen. He did a great job explaining how to cook the meal and answering all of our random questions . It wasn’t very hands on, but depending on what you are looking for this could be a good or bad thing.

Mediterranean meal was delicious. Definitely making some of the hummus at home. Was able to learn a lot of tips and tricks,from simple things like cooking rice to more complex things like cutting techniques.

Chef Jalen was incredible!! SO well prepared, basically brought his entire kitchen to my home! He did an excellent job explaining the menu and cooking process and had great tips and tricks for us. The food was AMAZING!! Highly recommend Chef Jalen and can’t wait to do another Cozymeal dinner!
