Begin with an appetizer of lightly fried vegetables enjoyed with spicy lemon aioli, then practice your knife skills to make a green salad. Next, prepare pasta from scratch while Chef Catalina teaches you professional pasta-making tips. You'll also handcraft a fresh tomato sauce with Calabrian chiles for your homemade pasta, and end by whipping up creamy tiramisu for dessert.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Chef Catalina attended college for cultural anthropology where she first worked in catering and discovered her passion for food. After school, she continued to follow this passion and hone her craft in the kitchen. With expansive experience in the industry from serving as lead cook and managing catering to managing special events and working as a cheese monger, Chef Catalina now enjoys instructing group cooking classes.

What a wonderful experience! Catalina's pasta making class is the perfect blend of hands-on learning and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived at her beautiful home, Catalina made us feel like welcome guests rather than students. The class focused on two Italian classics: homemade pasta with tomato sauce and tiramisu. What sets Catalina apart is her thoughtful approach to teaching – she breaks down each step into manageable portions, providing just the right amount of detail to understand the 'why' behind each technique. Whether you're sprinkling flour for the pasta dough or layering the delicate components of tiramisu, her guidance makes you feel confident and capable. The experience culminates in sharing the meal you've created together, which adds such a special touch to the class. There's something incredibly satisfying about enjoying pasta you've made with your own hands while engaging in wonderful conversation. If you're looking for a cooking class that offers both expert instruction and a warm, personal experience, I couldn't recommend Catalina's class enough. This was a great class. Chef Catalina explained things clearly and she also gave options for alternative ways to prepare the meal. We made the pasta from scratch - that was fun! The pasta sauce was simple yet so very tasty. The fried vegetables were crisp and airy dipped in a yummy aioli sauce we made. The arugula salad was lightly coated in the balsamic vinaigrette. Finally, the tiramisu was the best I have had. Everything was delicious. I will be taking more classes from Chef Catalina.

Chef Catalina had a well thought out system of demonstrating simply while incorporating guest help to give a hands on experience. Everything seamlessly happened right on time and everyone was supported and made to feel at home. Very comfortable atmosphere.
