Cooking Class - Banh Mi Sandwiches 101

What You’ll Do

Go beyond your typical sub sandwich with spicy and savory Vietnamese bánh mì.

Bánh mì sandwiches are a renowned Vietnamese specialty consisting of a baguette stuffed with various meats and vegetables. In this cooking class with Chef Ricky, you'll learn how to create your own bánh mì sandwiches completely from scratch.

First, you'll prepare shrimp spring rolls filled with vegetables, herbs and vermicelli noodles. Then Chef Ricky will teach you how to make bánh mì with lemongrass chicken, pickled vegetables, cilantro and spicy mayonnaise, and sweet potato fries on the side. Finish with a favorite Asian dessert — mango sticky rice.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

We’ve attended a couple of Ricky’s classes, and he genuinely cares about teaching and the needs of his students. He can answer whatever questions you need to know about Asian cuisine, and if there is time, he can show or discuss a variation on a recipe. Truly wonderful! He will change the way you cook and eat.

Chef Ricky was incredible and surpassed all of our expectations! We have done two classes with him now: both times the food was exquisite, and the information he delivered about food was so fun! He is incredibly knowledgeable about all areas of food and truly enjoys teaching others! We had such a good time the first class, we brought along my brother and SIL for the second class and they were equally impressed. We cannot wait to take more classes with Chef Ricky!
