After much anticipation for Chef Luana's risotto cooking class, I left feeling cheated of both time and money. What was advertised as a hands-on culinary experience turned out to be little more than an uncomfortable sales pitch with minimal cooking involvement. "Hands-on" apparently meant chopping an onion and dicing a pineapple. That's it. Nearly everything else was pre-prepared, leaving us as audience members rather than participants. I came expecting to learn techniques and timing for perfect risotto, but instead watched as Chef Luana worked with components she had already prepared before our arrival. Most uncomfortable was the relentless self-promotion throughout the session. Rather than focusing on our learning experience, Chef Luana continuously pitched her various side businesses—offering to meal prep for us weekly, showcase her crochet work, and repeatedly suggesting she could cater our future events. At one point, she even suggested that we should consider a smaller wedding so that she and her friend could handle the catering! This unsolicited advice and constant selling created an awkward atmosphere that overshadowed any culinary instruction. To make matters worse, Chef Luana repeatedly brought up tipping throughout the class, making awkward mentions of her Venmo account multiple times. The not-so-subtle hints about gratuity created additional tension in what was already an uncomfortable atmosphere. Being reminded about tips before we'd even finished the experience felt tactless and presumptuous. At the end she pointed at her venmo link that is printed out forcing you to tip. The overall unprofessionalism was staggering. From the lack of preparation to the blatant business solicitation and tip-hunting, it felt less like a cooking class and more like being trapped in an extended infomercial. Finally, Chef Luana didn't provide any written instructions or ingredient measurements for ANY of the dishes—making it impossible to recreate at home, which defeats the entire purpose of taking a cooking class. Save your money and look elsewhere for cooking classes that actually teach you to cook.

Had a great time cooking and chatting with Chef Luana. Learned how to make healthy and delicious food in a realistic kitchen setting - can't wait to cook the amazing dishes at home. Pineapple with burrata was an amazing combo, and the homemade bread was great too! Risotto was mouthwatering, especially with a few tips from Chef Luana on how to make it super creamy and flavorful (and still healthy!). Chef Luana was very welcoming, and her place felt like home! We would love to be back for more classes. Recommend this class!

I had a wonderful time cooking with Chef Luana! It was an intimate cooking experience where we learned how to make a delicious saffron risotto and chocolate mousse. We also prepared a pineapple burrata appetizer and a cannellini bean bruschetta. It was very educational and a fun, authentic, and collaborative environment. It was great to hear Chef Luana's stories from owning a restaurant in Italy and her tips and tricks for Italian cooking. I highly recommend this course and I look forward to trying out her other courses!
