What You’ll Do

Greek food is typical of the highly-regarded Mediterranean diet and wins on every level.

Greek fare is healthy, delicious and makes use of fresh ingredients. In this hands-on class with Chef Shailini, you will learn how to prepare a four-course menu of classic Greek dishes that utilize only the freshest and most wholesome ingredients.

Chef Shailini will begin by teaching you how to prepare a batch of traditional flaky and crispy oven-baked spinach and feta hand pies called spanakopita. For your entrée, you will learn how to build layers upon layers of flavor to create a hearty eggplant casserole topped with a luscious béchamel sauce lauded as the epitome of Greek comfort food.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Shailini was born in Nepal, and with her father being a well-known diplomat, the family lived all over the world. A life long educator, Chef Shailini taught at both Boston University and Northeastern University earlier in her career, and while she enjoyed that a great deal, she is currently living her true passion at several well-known Boston institutions teaching people how to cook food that is both nutritious and delicious. Chef Shailini also does a great deal of volunteer work.

My Cozymeal cooking class was a big hit. There were eight of us and we opted for the Greek cooking class with Chef Shailini. What a great time, the food was amazing and the best part is that everyone helped cook it, even those of us who were not cooking savvy. The Chef made us all feel welcomed in her kitchen, she was a great host. Come hungry, there’s a lot of food. Looking forward to trying the recipes at home.
